Remembrance Parade in Tutbury

On Sunday 10th November 2024 the community of Tutbury came together for a meaningful Remembrance Parade to honour the sacrifices of our veterans. Led by a piper funded by the parish council, the parade moved through the village, with a strong turnout from Scouts, Parochial Church Council members, local organisations, and community members. The sight of so many people gathered in solidarity underscored our village’s commitment to honouring those who served.

The parade culminated in an Act of Remembrance, where wreaths were laid by local organizations in tribute to the fallen. Representing the parish council, our chair laid a wreath on behalf of the community, highlighting our shared gratitude and remembrance.
The parish council would like to express sincere thanks to Cllr. Steadman for his key role in organizing this year’s event, as well as to the Parochial Church Council, local organizations, and Scout parents who managed road closures and logistics. We are especially grateful to all those who contributed to the family church service, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for families and attendees.

Thank you to everyone involved for your dedication in making this day a respectful and memorable occasion for our village
