ELECTION OR CO-OPTION

QUALIFICATION CRITERIA TO APPLY FOR PARISH COUNCIL VACANCY

1. Applicant must be 18 years old on the day of nomination AND
2. Must be registered to vote in Tutbury Parish  OR
3. For the whole of the preceding 12 months is owner or tenant of any land or premises in Tutbury  OR
4. Your principal or only place of work during those last 12 months or more has been in Tutbury  OR
5. You have lived in Tutbury or within 3 miles/4.8 kilometres during the whole of the last
   12 months

You cannot seek election if:-

1. You work for the parish or hold paid office under the council which has the vacancy
2. You are subject of a bankruptcy restriction order or interim order
3. You have been sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the past 5 years
4. Have been disqualified under any enactment relating to corrupt or illegal practices
